Philips Ultinon Led H4

Hi all. Apologies if this has been discussed before, but I have fitted these lamps to my T6 and now have the warning lamp. Tried the philips canbus adapters which made no difference.

I have tried with a friend to switch off the light with vagcom but again, seems to make no difference.

Do I cover the warning lamp with a bit of black tape or can somebody tell me there is a way to do it.

whats the warning lamp?

got a pic?

what errors did the vagcom scan come up with?

assuming your referring to Bulb/headlight fault?

Bulb warnings can’t be coded out, you can disable the startup check so you won’t get the light when you start the van but as soon as you turn the lights on the warning will appear

OK, thanks. I guess if I want to keep the led's, it's going to have to be a resistor pack or some black tape over the warning light.

Is this still the case? I'm looking at buying some and the company selling "travelinlite" claim they can not guarantee the warning light won't show but not to worry as it comes with instructions for vag come so you can code it out?

AFAIK yes its still true, you can turn on/off the startup check but cannot disable it totally ?

I will have to call them and see what they say. Iv no interest if the dash light is on everytime the lights come on but I can't see why they would advertise that it can be coded out if it can't because that would be a come back nightmare for such a big retailer surely

They have a good reputation and are pretty well known and if they have a solution then i see no need to doubt them

Did you resolve this issue?

No. Phillips tried sending different resistor packs. In the end they refunded me, which was very good of them.

That's strange, I had issues with my Evitek H4's reporting a bulb fail but only when both filaments were lit at the same time (it came on when going from high beam back to dipped as it was almost impossible to click the stalk back from the forwards high beam position to regular dipped beam position without pulling into the flash position)
I recoded using VCDS to ignore the headlights on the bulb warnings and it's been fine ever since.

With the lights on auto, the warning light would come on. Maybe I will try the Evitek's . I thought the Phillips would be a safe bet.

It would be useful to code out the lamp fail error or change the value of the resistance that the BCM is expecting so we can run led's instead of filament lamps.
