Has anyone managed to get a pet passport issued in France? Seems (according to google) some vets will issue a passport despite the 3 month requirement and French address? Thanks.
Yes just the reason I was asking about EU issued pet passports. Not a passport but am currently smarting from the £££ of an Animal Health Cert issued this morning.
40 quid at your local (friendly) vet. To be fait, my vet isn't really sure of the rules post brexit. Two passports work for me...EU and UKHas anyone managed to get a pet passport issued in France? Vet did discuss this with me but we will only use it once a year max, and he felt it wasn't worth it for us.Yes just the reason I was asking about EU issued pet passports.
I presume you mean French vet? If so how did you get on with the 3 month rule and having a French address?40 quid at your local (friendly) vet. To be fait, my vet isn't really sure of the rules post brexit. Two passports work for me...EU and UK
A UK rabies vaccination is valid for 3 years. If it’s the first vaccination you need to wait 21 days before you can travel on an AHC. Yes you need an AHC for each trip.
We just had a 3 year rabies vaccination in France as our dog has an EU passport. France do both 1 and 3 year vaccinations so you need to ask when booking.
Having an EU passport is much cheaper if you are a regular traveller and gives greater flexibility as you don’t have the 10 day and 4 month rule as with the AHC.
The pet passport is valid for life provided you keep up the rabies vaccinations and don’t let a UK vet write in the rabies section of an EU passport.
