P20EE fault code rectification

Ah, that'll be why I've not come across it before as I have a manual.

I the change of fuel still keeping the light at bay?

Thanks,

Hi Chris
Yes the fuels still keeping the lights at bay another 1200 miles on the clock and still good the extra 18p a litre seems to help but compared to what I could have spent its worth it had my doubts at first with the fuel took a good while to stay clear
All I can think is low milage models that stand on forecourts for a while gum up
Had a passat before this behaved as though the turbo was going that was low milage and had been stood for a good while then played up within a month of purchase but with fuel and additive cleaner cleared a lot quicker but that wasn't adblue it had the bluemotion engine that eventually became a good motor but was just a big stupid work car (estate) for what I needed- lots of city parking a smart car would have been more appropriate so it went
The fuels worth a try for a month or two if no other symptoms it does no harm except a few extra quid

Anyone wondering what additive i used for vw passat with gummed turbo viens it was forte additive took two bottles and three full tanks of shell v power
Symptoms was constant limp mode with engine fault lights 1 garage had recommended new turbo but the car was not worth the cost of the turbo the 1st bottle of forte was free from my local garage as he swore it would sort it the second bottle I bought for about £20 from amazon (the car was run from purchase on Sainsbury's diesel that stopped after problems ) and problems went away

I have a 2001 A4 TDI with just under 220K miles on the clock, it’s on the original Garrett VNT, injectors, never been stripped or rebuilt.
It’s only ever been fed supermarket fuel, it’s been left for 6 weeks at a time unused for most of it’s life as I worked at sea.
The idea that a modern car engine / turbocharger gums up because it’s been given the wrong flavour fuel or hasn’t been used for a while doesn’t float.

Hi dxx
Only my observation of low mileage vehicles not scrimped on the passat had new timing belt and water pump and seals and new discs and pads all.round gearbox oil dropped and oil changed on 1st day of ownership even with 40000 miles 8 years old both my experiences have been similar very low milage cars that have stood my solution has no scientific grounds just a lucky experience that happened twice that saved me money and all im saying when your desperate its worth a try as your only putting fuel in as you would anyway could just be dodgy sensors that need help sensing with a bit of clean
If it's knackered no amount of snake oil or luck will repair
The passat was definitely built on a Friday temperture sensor and front grill sensors gave up.quickly (replaced and then no issue)
The 2001 diesel engine and any pre adblue or ommision strangulated diesel engine will probably run forever that 2001 is a different beast to my issues
There's very little sense when you add adblue (why we pour 10ltrs of crystals into a seperate tank - which is think personally is what gums up sensors not the fuel- supermarkets fuel have different additives - nowt wrong with the fuel its self it all comes from the same refinery)

Is it normal for the NOx sensor on a T6 to take several minutes of driving before it becomes ACTIVE in live data? Mine takes a go
I’m also seeing high NOx readings under load (sometimes over 1000ppm) and getting sporadic P20EE fault codes on longer runs. Regens are happening between 120–160 miles depending on motorway or around-town driving. Any ideas appreciated.

Yes, normal.

What means "under load"?
During DPF regeneration perhaps?
Peak values do not count - what's the average of the NOx readings over a journey?
What's the engine software version?

getting sporadic P20EE fault codes on longer runs.
Just the fault codes but not the dash emission light?

Sounds normal.

the readiness monitors it says scr incomplete always.
Found the above in your earlier post - a misread perhaps?

Van was in again last week. They have said there apparently is a J623 software update which they have done. Initially had P20ee codes pending after a shortish 30 mile drive home

Did 245 mile round trip on Wednesday no codes present but Adblue range dropped 800 miles for the 245 mile trip. At that rate a full fill will get me 1700 miles rather than 5500 so something still not right. Seems like the update has massively upped the Adblue delivery maybe to mask what is causing the EML issue

Does this sound feasible?

Hi there, I'm having same problem with P20EE error code. My situation is a bit more complicated, as I bought my van 2016 150BHP with 203.000 km: the previous owner mapped out EGR, DPF and ADBLUE. He put all back, as I asked him as condition to make the purchase. At the beginning I had the dreadful AdBlue light with 1000 km autonomy out of the blue; I put some Adblue and anticrystal, did a stroll on motorway at 2600 rpm and it cleared out. But I still get engine light on for different error code during those weeks:
- P242B exhaust gas temperature seonsor 3 bank 1 confirmed
- P2457 exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) cooling system - performance problem pending
- P204F reductant system pending
Sometimes all together, other just one and at the moment I have P20EE error code. I hate the purchase i've done. Any suggestion?
I don't know the software release I have at the moment.

Thanks for replying! Under load I mean pulling on the motorway putting the engine under max load. I have attached some data I took to compare with the user info that he took and mines way off. Wonder if I have an exhaust leak throwing off reading possibly?

Hmmm.... isn't the plot the same as the one in post #55?
I''m not sure how to interpret the plot - especially confusing as the x-axis is labeled as RPM??? Possibly just time (without units)?
Can you share the raw data please - time-stamped values of recorded data? I'd like to do some calculations.
