Oversize tyres worry

Hi all been reading through the various posts regarding tyre size and im looking at the falcon wildpeak at trails my gut says goes go with standard 235/55/17 to play it safe or go with the 65 profile but my concern is fuel economy/performance and long-term drive train damage to the dsg with the oversize tyre

If you can get the make / tread pattern you want in an OEM size / profile / load rating why would you go for anything different? No speedo worries, no alternate size spare worries no insurance worries.

The 235/65/17 tyre has a rolling circumference that is 6.37% bigger than your existing tyre and your van would ride 23.5 mm higher, this is a significant difference.
I would expect that to have a negative effect on performance and fuel economy.

Anyone running 235/65/17 on lowered suspension?

Looking for advice from anyone that has lowered on the above set up. Dropped than van off at the garage this morning to have st coilovers fitted. Won't be going really low, only about 40mm as the tyres fill a lot of the gap as it is. Mechanic was saying though it does look like it will rub on...

On 235/65/17 here too , seems fine . Lowered mildly though .
