Our New Campervan... Only 600 days to go (hopefully).

So... my lovely wee transporter.

It is a T5, DSG, natural grey, kombi with two opening windows. It is just gorgeous.

Provisionally booked in for a conversion with D+R conversions in September.
:D

Positives: Amazing to drive. Just gorgeous piece of kit. Oh my god... it is just perfect in every way.
Negatives: Very echo-y due to it being a large empty space. Mum struggles to get in the van so we will need to make a wee step for her (she's only 4ft 1oins).

So.... our wait for our van is over which is great,
However, our converters fell through so we are now looking at another one. Conversion should be started in September.
:D

I won't go into too much detail but my work-life balance was ridiculously wrong so I have now changed my job. This means I now have almost every weekend off.
Waiting until October (conversion could take 4 - 6 weeks) is going to destroy me... I want to go camping now.
We even bought an airbed as we were going to try just camping in the van with an airbed and sleeping bag (with our power banks to charge the phones) but the airbed doesn't fit in.
:(

Why is life so difficult (tongue firmly in cheek here).

Can't help but think I am cursed.

Second converter has just had to postpone our conversion until October. Gutted.
:(

I just want my conversion.

So.... great news. Our converter has been in touch and he is ready to proceed. So excited!!
We are getting everything we wanted and cannot wait!!
:mexican wave:

Cannot wait for Harvey to be ready to camp in. A local conversion company is even giving us £200 for our kombi seats so we are heading there tomorrow for them to remove them (our own converter didn't want them).
Anyways.... sorry for all the exclamation marks, just really excited!!
:mexican wave:

So... wee update time. Our van is at the converters and stuff is happening!! Hubby is in the picture for the first one.

Picture 1 is pre-conversion.
Picture 2 is 10 days in.
:D

Latest update.... my converter sent pictures as we couldn't make it this week (his commitments, not ours).
We have electric (see the lights) and we have carpeting!! So excited!!

So.... our weekly visit has been and passed. Converter has stalled a bit as the lino has been delayed. We still have bits done. We have a solar panel and our battery and water tank now have homes.
The cooktop (wallas xc duo), fridge and sink have all arrived as has our RIB bed. We have worktop and a completed plan. We have a USB charger and a temperature gauge which is going into that hole above the rear view mirror. So much excitement!!

Converter thinks we might have another week to wait and then we can collect it next Friday (providing nothing goes wrong so fingers crossed).

Lots of pictures as we had a surprise... the converter had made our furniture. Our flooring had finally arrived and so has our swell shades. It's all going amazingly well at last.
:D

So.... pictures...

So.... the email last night was sad news. Harvey isn't ready for collection tomorrow. I was so excited but there were some unexpected issues. Boo hiss.

My dad and I are going up tomorrow for another visit. Fingers crossed it looks good.

Well.... there is no chance of getting him this weekend or next week either. Still a ton of work to do... but here are some updated pictures:

It will.... I am just a bit disappointed as we were going to get the van today and be camping in him tonight. Instead we are at home with no confirmed date of completion and probably two more weeks of work.
Positivity though. He is going to look phenomenal and is a long term investment.
:)

Oh dear... too much excitement!! We are picking up our Harvey tomorrow morning!! It's like Xmas Eve!!

Spent the night in Harvey last night. It was awesome, it was perfect, it was great.

Lesson learned: Research everything first. Thankfully this forum saved my ass. We now know to open the driver's door then press the button on the B pillar before shutting then locking the driver's door.
Thank you to whoever posted that as it was wonderful to have silence after setting the alarm off twice at 9pm in a street (we slept on my parent's driveway).
:giggle:

The RIB bed is quite solid so we might have to look at mattress toppers and we had an issue with condensation in the morning so I will need to do some research into that but otherwise, it was awesome.
Cannot wait to get out there properly.
