So, SWMBO has a Fiesta 1.0 Ecotec about 4 years old with 40k miles.....for the last few months we have noticed the digital temp gauge barely getting to 1 bar when 3-4 is the normal range, so it seems to be running cold. The fan heating the cab barely gets warm even on a long run (over 2hrs on the motorway)
I suspect the thermostat is stuck open however when it went into the Ford dealership they said it was operating normally and sent a pic of 3-4 bars. I think that was on the ramp over a period of time so no airflow.
Any suggestions from the bank of knowledge of this brilliant forum ?

Can you reproduce what Ford are seeing by leaving it running for 10 mins on the driveway?

As suspected, thermostat knackered.....local garage replaced Thermostat and housing and sensor and now all is toasty and working as it should again....

So Ford dealer failed to diagnose or resolve a fairly simple problem, your local garage did better.
Who'd have thought it?
As per normal if a problem doesn't throw up a fault code they're stuffed.
