New turbo calibration

When the egr either opens or closes the sound completely disappears then when it does the opposite it squeals
Just a thought: I have some blanking plates here if I blanked the egr off I’d obviously get a eml but would it go into limp mode? I’d be interested to know if blanking the egr would kill the problem and if so I could get it mapped out?
Yes, eventually you'll get the emission light. However, it won't cause the limp mode - because it's just emission related, not critical to engine health.
I would say - yes. At least it's easy to blank the EGR pipe in front of engine.

Another day wasted on the b*****d thing think it’s time to sell it I’ve had enough of it! It’s cost me an absolute fortune I can’t take anymore shit from this van. Blocked the egr out and it’s exactly the same.
I wonder if the turbo its self could be faulty?
So the EGR is ruled out now. Just the turbo remains?
The turbo test cycles between max boost (at 1400 RPM) and fully relaxed. Thus the turbo axis gets a longitudinal force as would aircraft propeller do.
Just wondering if there is longitudinal slack in turbo axis.
Have you driven the van? Driving the van would create much bigger charge pressure than was available at stationary turbo test. So might expect quite horrible squealing - possibly even disastrous.
imback on it now currently running another smoke test theres no sign of leak with the smoke machine however i just did another test with the comprerssed air into the intake pipe but this time at 20psi and I've located another leak. if i touch the vacuum/expansion pipe from the cam cover to the turbo intake pipe it leaks. i barely have to tough it and it lashes out.
pipe replaced still no better - dunno whether to laugh or cry now
Have removed the turbo there’s a very very small amount of axial play and it appears to have damaged fins. 
Would love an upgrade but tbh just having a working van will do me

Well, of course would be interesting to see how the data items in post #9 would now behave - which showed fluttery intake air flow in post #17.
