New Transporter - first official pic

Citroen had some absolute bangers style wise and were good innovators too - swivelling (cornering lights) in the 50’s, high level lights too, double glazing, hydro pneumatic suspension. Even chromed cylinders in the 2CV - which had linked suspension of sorts.
Sure, they tried too hard to compete with others and lost their spark by going mainstream but they added a lot to personal transport and others took a while to catch up in some areas and make ‘modern’ cars.
Yes I agree, I wasn't slagging off Citroen..... classic Citroens anyway
I just see this every time I see a picture of one.
I can't believe the lack of effort. Hopefully a future facelift might help......but it will always be a transit in disguise.

When the T6.1 was released it took a while for people to warm to it but this is not just a face lift. Therefore I’m interested how it’ll affect the huge amount of conversion and aftermarket parts companies. If adoption is slow it could be quite damaging for that sector. I noticed Autohaus has closed after 20 years, not sure why, but if a business of that size (they built 187 vehicles in 2024) shuts down it’s definitely not a good sign.

It’s interesting to note that whenever any of the traditional VW campervan converters has posted about their new 2025 new Transit/Transporter-based models on social media, they’ve elicited a surprisingly large number of references to Ford wet-belt issues. For any company that has built a business on the Hanover-made VW Transporter, you’d have to be concerned about whether you’ve made the best choice of base vehicle with the Transit platform I’d have thought.

Equally interesting that VWs own camper version is based on the T7 Multivan and not the new Transit based model.

I suspect, possibly for reasons well cited in this thread, that VW perhaps themselves understand there are certain aspects of the Transit image they ont ever be able to shak off, hence the T7 designation going to the Multivan and the halo model all being Multivan based as well.
