So..... I got myself a new van. After a lot of deliberating and also looking at what I spent on last one and what I thought I wanted for the new one, I made a decision and went for it.
Complete contrast to last one but now feel in a position where I can see exactly what works for me.
In no particular order but old Vs new:
Lwb Vs Swb
Front bench seat Vs Captains Seats
N1 Vs M1
Diesel Vs Electric
6 seater panel kombi Vs 8 seater oem
Barn door Vs Tailgate
Front wheel drive Vs Rear wheel drive
Must say I've done around 700 miles and loving it. Has a lot of the annoying toys but far smoother and refined! Also has straight out of factory led front lights, foot well lighting, glass all round, rear speakers heating and lights, tracked seating.
Not everyone's cup of tea but been waiting on the big unveil. I would've got a VW no issues, however,.the equivalent model is not out yet! Yes it will depreciate like a lead balloon but the last van ended up costing me a lot of money!
So... After spending too long trying to work out how to remove the third row bench seat (I inadvertently had pulled the wrong strap last night) my van now has 5 belted seats with the other three in storage. With all seats out of the rear you can fit with some comfort an 8x4 sheet. With middle row and rear most there is still over 1.2m between back of seat and tailgate.
As the e-shuttle and VW shuttle are still like hens teeth I thought this may be useful for anyone who is waiting or plunges for a shittle . Must say the van has definitely grown on me. With the warmer weather (almost) my range is now up as well. I have noticed that a lot of the vans on autotrader have a very high range but also temps of high 30s in pics so must be a trick they do before photos!
