Hi all, thanks for accepting me on the forum. Just bought a 2018 T6 150 BHP DSG converted by go explore. Excited to start using it to visit parts of the UK and Europe. Already used the forum to help me in the buying process and am sure it will continue to educate me on all aspects of owning one of these great vehicles.

Yes@Drive Wayne I'm already seeing this affect. Booked in to do cambelt and water pump based on age as only 43K on it.

Hold off on that one pal. Have a search on the site for the cambelt thread. You no longer need to do it based on age, its based on mileage (125k from memory)

Thanks for the heads up. I searched the site and can see the 125k mentioned but can't see where anyone is saying not to change based on age?
Mine is over 6 years old now so thought be safe not sorry but obviously don't want to shell out money for no reason.
Is it the official VV line that 4 years is no longer recommended?

Did nothing get said when you phoned to book in cambelt change? Is it with VW?

Its with a VW specialist..... they didn't mention anything, but I suppose they wouldn't, its all business for them.
I've now read the thread attached so thanks for that. I agree now it's just milage based I would be mad to to do at 43K. Thanks again

I think they were referring to desert living vans... Barry isn't quite that.
My van is coming up 4 years old, 24k miles, I'm going to leave mine until its 6th birthday I think.

Well I live about 300 yards from a beach but never had any sand deposits outside my home. Can only imagine that would be a concern if very dry sand and high winds?
