Decided to change the steering wheel (again) and go for the smaller airbag bag.

So, another day....another steering wheel.

As you will have seen, I upgraded the original T6 wheel for a golf R mk7 wheel. I love the look of this wheel. But, i figured, i'd love it more if it matched my interior....well, that's what I told the mrs

Went for a forged carbon wheel with purple stitching, leaving the brushed silver gold centre with buttons.

Then changed airbag cover for new leather with matching purple stitch to my gear gaitor and gloss black badge.

Update 27/04/2026

we went away last week on a 4 day trip around anglesea and norrh wales. While away, the frint door speakers just went off, leaving only the a pillar tweeters.

I raised a post on here asking for help, it came down to faulty speakers.

Today, I went to my local HellFrauds and got some vibe optisound 6+ door speakers and tweeter kit, made for the transporter.

A few hours later, they're in and better than ever.

2 weeks ago, while in the peaks I met a Toyota yaris down a very tight lane....the yaris won, leaving me with 2 kerbed n/s wheels



It almosts ruined the trip, so I decided to do the right thing by having them refurbed buying complete new wheels! When it happened, a big F*** SAKE was exhaled, to which my mrs replied "just get new wheels!".

I like a silver wheel on a silver van, but on the happy-spouse subject mine has been a colour adviser and wasn't keen.
Mind you she also kerbed all four of the ABT wheels and then said "can't you just get some cheaper wheels....?"
I tried to compare this to me scraping the newly painted wall on the stairs with a suitcase and saying, "can't you get a cheaper wall?"

I do love silver on silver, she's not so keen. This van has always had black wheels, but wanted something different.

I'll let them grow on me and if not, refurb them gloss black/anthracite as they're not options from rotiform
