Just had the EGR valve replaced on my 2017 T28 due to code P0402 exhaust gas recirculating “A” flow excessive detected. Recurrent error message, still remains following the replacement. Having read loads of threads on here, most seem to be the opposite with the valve clogged.
Heres the rub - after looking at the valve that came out, it appeared to be in really good condition without too much crud in it. Checked the old documentation that came with the van, the valve was replaced by VW in Croydon less than 2 years and 13,000 miles ago! Needless to say swmbo is marginally less pleased than I am. I have managed to locate an Indy VAG specialist reasonably locally who is going to hook it up to their diagnostic system tomorrow - short of arson, has anyone got any constructive thoughts on where to look next? We are due to drive to Wales on Friday morning, 170 mile trip, so would also like to get an idea whether the van should be ok for the journey on the (not too unlikely) event that it doe get sorted tomorrow…
Thanks all, really at my wits end now
