Egr valve problems
Euro 6 102
Had an oil sensor go on the van the other week which through up a start stop error on the mfd called roadside assist and thay sent the AA out to me, as the AA can read the codes numbers but cant tell what they are related too, iwas then told to book the van in Bradford van centre
Rang bradford van centre the next day and they booked the van in, had to wait a week for them to have a look at it so i rang vw assist and requested a vw assist not the AA
Assist came out to the van and cleared codes and replaced oil sensor egr code still there
the van went into Bradford commercial on monday egr replaced and codes cleared
codes listed below

Will be calling the dealers tomorrow
will let you know how i get on

The date that was recorded was nearly a year ago, are you sure it cleared? Go into the module itself with VCDS and clear the fault codes again.

actually the codes are before the the van was built but the millage is correct will see what the van centers got to say tomorrow
cheers Howard

Van centres keeping it for a day or so to run some test on it
no one can understand why the error codes are not showing up on the MFD butt show up on the code reader
Not feeling much love for this van at the moment
Anyway they given me a 140 to play with, totally different van to drive

Well got the van Back new egr valve fitted hopefully it should be ok for a few year just checked for error codes and nothing showing
Got to say the 150 van was a much better drive than my 105 think i will be getting a map when warranty runs out

Fingers crossed for you! If anything else comes up, make sure it doesn't need a software update - it took our dealer 11 WEEKS to realise our T5.1 180 needed one to go with the three EGR valve replacements.

Is the 102 five speed? I think the 6th gear of the 150 and 204 helps a lot. A bit hard to remap in a sixth gear though.

@Shaw many thanks for the update, any reasons given for the incorrect date? Here's hoping you have a smooth ride of it from now on ;)

Aha, the value of a VCDS shown to enable a visit to the dealer and workshop by an informed and intelligent customer who has, therefore, a dealer bluff potential of zero. I hope that the fault is cured once and for all, but I expect regular VCDS checks will now be conducted. Fingers crossed and good fortune.

on the date issue they said they havnt a clue why this is happening and they couldnt tell me why it hasnt shown up on the MFD, but there will probably a software update in the near future we will see??

just thought i would put an update to this egr problem
after the new valve was fitted my mpg went from 33.12 mpg to 42.36 so i am happy with that same driving style same route
just had the van in today for a software update for the egr valve so i will have to see what happens from now on

@Shaw many thanks for the update , please let us know how you get on with the software update. Its worth noting the difference on mpg, as some are having difficulties matching others mpg, and although I know everyone's driving styles are different:whistle:, the EGR/software is worth questioning with the dealer to make sure the vehicle is up to date.:thumbsup:
