I had reversed up the drive a bit close to the gates so instead of moving the van forward, I opened the tailgate as far as I could without hitting the gates and then ducked under the door and managed to walk straight into the corner edge halfway down the tailgate - doh! It bled for about 5 hours!

The struts on a Cali are so powerful, I've been known to get flung into a low orbit when opening it.
And closing it requires for full grown mountain gorillas.
