Loose clip under bonnet - what is it?

Hi doing service and wrestling with the oil filter housing. I noticed this clip floating. Should it be attached somewhere?? Worried I've knocked it out whilst struggling to loosen housing.

It seems to run down the nearside and under nearside headlight.

Looks like the bonnet switch, should be attached to the bonnet latch.

You'd need to remove the latch with a Torx 30 to refit the switch.
