K&N Air filter

Had a couple of these bolted on my twin 40's on my Talbot sunbeam ti,back in the day.
I do miss that sucking noise and the sticker of course.:D

Hi, I'm new to the forum and to T6's for that matter and was pondering the same question as I've always fitted K&N's for the better breathability and always enjoyed an increase (albeit slight in mpg) K&N do state fitting of their filters in no way affects manufacturers warranty, any further comments welcome - I will be fitting one out of habit (just had a throwback to when I owned a Ranger 3.2 Limited - the K&N upset the ECU so I took it out and all fine as soon as I put it back it got upset again!) anyway I will give it ago and feedback if any noticeable difference

I've had one in mine for 18 months and about 10k miles. No problems whatsoever and I did notice a bit more of a roar on foot down acceleration when I first fitted it, at least I think I did!

Thanks lukavell - reassuring to know they don't cause a fault warning on the T6 - will get one ordered later tonight

Skyliner33 what are your thoughts on K&N? I have always had a measurable performance increase in terms of mpg when recorded over a period of time, have you any comments that could assist me? I have not owned my T6 long so would appreciate any constructive advice

I don't understand the science that would give better fuel economy fitting a cone air filter against a tuned airbox? As I said earlier in the thread, my only experience with K&Ns was in the early 80s when we would fit them to our 2 stroke bikes to get a freer airflow to allow us to fit bigger jets in the carbs to burn more fuel and hence get better power - but obviously as a consequence making the fuel economy worse. I have no background knowledge other than that, but if they can improve fuel economy I want to understand how.

Hi Andy, I'm no scientist but can only assume better airflow (less restriction) gives better combustion - more oxygen in = a bigger bang for your buck - it doesn't have to burn more fuel to give a slight increase in mpg - i'm sure there must be an explanation out there from some techie? any offers?

Nice piccie by the way - where did you get the screen shade?

It’s from Fuel Lagoon. Not great at keeping the light out but my granddaughter loves it so I take it when she comes with me

Thanks - does it cover the side windows? probably get the same thumbs up from my grand kids
