Oil Filter & Housing replacement quote?

Hi all

Forgive me for my lack of knowledge. It appears my oil filter is leaking (ever so slightly) and the AA have said I need to have the oil filter and housing replaced. I have received a quote from a mechanic who has quoted £75 for replacement oil filter and housing, £90 for oil and coolant and £200 for labour @ £50 per hour - does this seem reasonable? I really do not know if this is good or bad so thought I may turn to here who may be able to share some knowledge!

My engine code is CAAB918012 and it is 66 plate T6 102 2.0L.

Many thanks!

Ryan

If the damage is to the plastic part of the filter housing, £75 sounds reasonable, although it would be worth checking that the ‘o’ rings are in place and not damaged first.

The labour for replacement seems a bit high as it’s no more than an oil change.

The only thing that would complicate things would be if the oil filter housing metal body was damaged.

I’ve done loads of oil changes on my 2017 102 CXGB 2.0 TDi.

Would be worth uploading a photo or two.

I got it fixed today. It was the oil cooler and housing that was replaced. They said it is not hard but it is "fiddly" as have to take some of the front out etc?

Was £360+VAT = £432 total!
