Just fettled the van after our 3 week ski trip to the Alps. I did the usual pre-rinse with the steam cleaner and noticed that the van was covered in rust spots. I normally get a few as they tend to stand out on a white van, but never seen it like this. I got out the Ferric spray and gave her a good dosing. Snow foam followed and then a hand job and rinse.
I can only put it down to the use of snow chains in the mountains, leaving heavy iron/steel deposits on the roads. Each one of those purple streaks is iron being dissolved off the paint.
