Evening

I ran a test using vcds, I’m no wizard on the diagnostic side ,

Fuel injector time deviation cylinder 1-25us
Fuel injector time deviation cylinder 2 - 24us
Fuel injector time deviation cylinder 3 - 23us
Fuel injector time deviation cylinder 4 - (-72us)

I’m I thinking right that injector 4 needs replacing and the other 3 are now compensating for the faulty 4?

Engine coolant @ 90 when test done.

I’m investigating a slight misfire in 3rd gear on acceleration, very slightly hesatant.

Injector deviation when added up should = 0 so actually doesnt look bad but i thought it was added in pairs not all four but im not 100% ?

Well I say test I’ve done the deviation of the injectors , just trying to track down the cause of it!

Why don't you do the misfire count live data and accelerate to see if you can replicate the misfire and see which cylinder it occurs on?

I can try this next I diddnt know this was a thing I’m new to vcds . Thankyou mate

I've had mine for about 16 years and only discovered this recently when I had misfires on my Audi S4. Worked a treat for me.

I don't use vcds, but is that option not just for petrol engines??

Mmmm maybe. My S4 is a 4.2 V8 petrol. I just assumed it was a universal test.

Could you please create VCDS Auto-Scan and full engine blockmap files please?

1) Full VCDS Auto-Scan
2) Engine blockmap - Ignition ON/engine OFF
3) Engine blockmap - Engine running at idle
4) Engine blockmap - Engine running at idle - 3 minutes after startup
5) Engine blockmap - Hot engine idling - after minimum of 15 minutes of driving - please turn off Stop/Start

How-to create a blockmap file:

- Single Controller Address = 01​

- Login or security access code: Leave blank​

- Function: Measuring values​

- Output: CSV file​

[Go]​

Yep will do this tomorrow and post my findings thanks mate

Just an update on this it Turned out to be a cracked inlet manifold. Smoke tested proved this. Busy weekend ahead
