Heated mirror problems, resistance?

Hi All,

Just noticed a problem witht the new van (2016 T6 panel van)...

Nearside mirror clears fine, but drives side doesn't.

The glass is warm to the touch on the nearside, but not as warm on the drivers.

I have measure the voltage and it's fine, but resistance of the nearside mirror is 16.8 Ohms and the drivers side is 69 Ohms.

I assume that the nearisde is correct, but can anyone confirm?

Haven’t checked one and maybe some one can confirm but 16.8 sounds about right.

thanks, i have ordered a new drivers side glass. will check the resistance when it arrives...

New glass fitted and working...

Old glass is marked with VW part numbers, but is measuing 68 Ohms...

New glass is measuign 12 Ohms, and seems to be working well.

Strange that the old heated glass appears to have an increased resisitance with age, i would have expected it to just go O/S.
