After weeks of graft using only 1 arm. (My left arm has been left near useless after an operation in November)
My driveway is finally finished. I dug out my front lawn and monoblocked that also.
We have 4 vehicles at the moment and a 5th a wee pug 108 in the garage for my young lass who’s 17 in august. It will fit in that space left nicely.
I’ve been here 27 years extended it twice and I’m still not quite finished.
I’m going to rebuild my garage next to fit the T6 in it. So that will free up more space.
Well happy with results. Well for a one armed joiner anyway….IMG_7465.jpegIMG_7466.jpegIMG_7467.jpeg

Thanks guys.
I had help. My pal came to help dig it out another pal lent me his wee stand on digger and helped me level the ground.
And my laddie and old boy moved the blocks and used the wheel barrows
I was able to go the digger and unload all the blocks with my right arm.
Then spent a while laying all the blocks myself and finish the cement work.
So frustrating not being able to use a shovel or a rake or even the brush. Can’t go a wheel barrow either.
I’m expecting another operation as they have left me basically disabled and unable to continue as a joiner.
For some reason the surgeon completely removed my radial head.

Awesome work on the driveway fella. You should be very proud of the result, even more so that it's not your trade.

Why did they take out your elbow? The mind boggles..... You need to tell us more !

I broke it badly at primary school. Then 35 years of hard graft did it no favours. Became really painful to use, lost strength in it then it started trapping the nerve.
So waited years for an operation.
Surgeon top guy in Scotland the “prof” said arthritis.
Told me he was going to relocate the nerve, clean out the joint, shave off bone spurs and trim the bone.
All sounded fine.
I’m never realised trimming the bone consisted of completely removing the radial head.
I’m a self employed joiner and not been able to work since I had my op in November.
Been doing all physio and tried to go back to work but ended up having to get guys to help me as I can only use 1 arm. Just like doing my driveway.
Got MRI on the 10th and expect more operations. Surgeon was on about operating on my ligaments now.
But been speaking to my joiner pal who smashed his arms up and had a radial head replacement. They chapped a titanium replacement into the bone until it split then it heals around it.
He says it’s great and is still grafting away.
So think I’m going to press for that.

Well you did ask
