I tried to get some 2.5 metre lengths of galvanised steel (modifications for my trailer) shipped up from Devon a couple of years ago - quotes were ridiculous (circa £200) so I gave up in the end and drove down to get it and turned it into a long weekend camping.

I’ve shipped plenty of things on pallets, the company I got it from sent via tuffnells might be worth giving them a buzz

These guys are pretty reasonable.

The issue is the max length of any side - lots of couriers, including above, impose a length limit of around 2m which is why you end up having to get specialist quotes, usually costing a lot more.

Edit: Weight is more like 23kg + packaging but doesn't seem to alter the price.

Sure that’s not ment to be 3000 and not 300?

The dimensions are in centimeteres so no, 300 is correct (give or take a few for actual length of casing plus packing)

I think the price is good compared to when I looked for a similar shaped package a couple of years back - there was nothing on Parcel Monkey that would take such long packages.
