Engine noise after ignition switched off

Hi. I have a fairly loud engine noise when engine is switched off, I took it back to the garage and they said this is normal? I would put a video up but only happens after long drive and not all the time. My question, is this normal?

Auxiliary cooling pumps and radiator fan can run after the engine is stopped, if you are not sure get the garage to tell you exactly what is running and why.
