Engine management light, glow plug 2 needs replacing. Will dog regens still happen?

2018 150 caravelle Engine management light came on start up. Dealer diagnosed glow plug 2 needs replacing. Told ok to drive, awaiting all in warranty approval. Drives fine , start stop still working. I’m concerned that dpf regens won’t initiate with the fault still there. Does anyone know/have experience of this? I have another vehicle to use at the moment fortunately. Any advice appreciated

Thanks. That’s what I thought. Would it regen with eg a trip down the motorway? Or just gradually fill till needing a forced regen. This I can’t do as no access to Carista etc.

We've had the same glow plug 2 fault and engine light on for over a week now. Carista check just now shows that it did a regen 11km ago. Current soot level 9g. It's a daily driver.

Thanks TeeCeeJay, that’s reassuring. What’were the driving conditions like? Short runs or Motorway/dual carriageway. I generally drive mine daily 5miles each way mix of hills and city driving.

Ours goes 12 miles mostly urban each way. If a regen is noticed it comes home the long way back on the dual carriageway

My EML on due to SCR fault, still under investigation Still regens

Had glow plug 2 done under warranty few months ago. Apparently 2 and 3 need egr cooler removing to gain access

That will be quite a job then looking at all the pipe work!
