i had an emergency my add blue stopped working the sensor wouldn’t work so i had to control alt and what they did is remap my engine that cost me £250’ its rapid now and I've passed all my MOTS no probs had no idea it was illegal
the cost to fix was going to be astronomical and i was hundreds of miles from home with a poorly wife didn’t think about that and no one told me this is on my caddy

Advanced testing will no doubt be introduced in the near future but a quick tap on the empty shell with a spanner will indicate it’s hollow and arouse suspicion.
Obviously the tester needs to be able to prove it’s not a valid DPF to fail it.
Update- after escalation of complaint finally got dealership to talk to technical at milton keynes and maybe Germany. Going in for another week of road testing next week so after 2+ years hoping they will put effort into finding the problem
Personally i would of replaced sensors by now and the adblue tank to discount those elements but there seems to be a reluctance to do so. EML not been on for a while but same codes always sitting pending
They must know about the issue as i know it is not uncommon. A good friend has exactly same issues but now out of warranty so he is watching with interest
Fingers crossed they get to the bottom of it but not optimistic
