EGR connect

Noticed my van has the EGR disabled with no warning lights. Can I simply plug it back in. I would have thought, it had been closed via software then unplugged to stop a further signal operating it again or am I completely wrong?

how did you notice?

have you got more details and some pics?

also what van spec?

What’s the engine code (4 consecutive letters in the engine number on the registration document)?

looks like this one,

so the EGR plug is unplugged. . . . but no warning lights on dash? - new van to you?

The EGR may have been mapped out? - assuming you would get an orange dash light for a faulty EGR if not.

OK, I was just wondering if it was a CFCA with a Tafmet kit, it isn’t.
As far as I’m aware there is no way to disable the EGR without a software modification and possibly some EGR pipe blanking plates as the valve will almost certainly be leaking.
You will probably need to track down the previous owner to get the history.
Will leaking cause a problem?

Will leaking cause a problem?
It will constantly circulate exhaust gases, the amount depends on how much the valve is leaking.
EGRs ruin the oil quality, deposit carbon in the engine / DPF and hamper efficient combustion by reducing the burn temperature.
If the unit is disabled it makes sense to blank it off.
