DSG7 Gearbox Noise Problem

Hello everyone,

For a few days now, I've noticed a metallic click when shifting up or down in the DSG7 gearbox of my van, a 2019 VW T6 Multivan 2.0 TDI 4Motion (CXEC).

This noise is most noticeable with the window down and is mainly heard in lower gears, from 1st to 4th. I suspect that the ambient noise from the gearbox is louder in 5th and 6th gears, masking it. The sound is most evident when shifting down.

I've researched VW group forums and found that this type of noise could be related to a lack of oil in the mechatronics or gearbox. Although I've tried synchronizing the mechatronics with Carista to correct any misalignments, the problem persists. Some users comment that this noise could be "normal," but I'm concerned because my van didn't initially make this sound.

Has any other VW T6 owner with a DSG7 transmission experienced a similar noise? Or do you know what the cause could be or how to fix it?

Regards,

I can not say that I have noticed anything like that. My vehicle is probably similar to yours in that is is a 2019 146kw 199 bhp T6 CEXC Caravelle 4Motion +D/L The only problems that I have encountered are several wheel sensors over time and filthy dirty HADEX oil

If you have concerns you might consider having it examined and serviced to investigate rule out anything wrong and perhaps put your mind to ease. Such an expensive and complex device it might be worth while considering. You indicate that you have some diagnostic tools Carista I have no knowledge of these devices but have you any fault codes come up. Their are people who might advise you on here if they are around and not camping or driving around the country side.

Hi, thanks for responding. I'm not getting any fault codes with the Carista. The problem is that I'm pretty sure that noise didn't exist a couple of weeks ago. I'll take it to where I had the transmission serviced and have them check the oil level. I think that's where the problem lies.
