Dreaded oil pressure switches

Coil light flashing /Start stop error , plugged in and needed an oil pressure switch, had this fitted,

Two weeks later coil light flashing again, won’t rev over 3000 rpm when driving until it’s warm and you turn off and on again, then it’s fine for the rest of the day.
Plugged in, it’s saying oil pressure switch again, there’s two of them on this van so fitted the second one today .

Coil light still flashing Start/stop error on dash and same problem again, plugged back in, still says oil pressure switch, but obviously they’re all replaced.

Saw on here someone who had this problem then fitted an oil pressure regulator valve . Fitted this!! This fixed theirs but mine still doing it?! VW HAVE TOLD ME TO GET A NEW ENGINE.......

You need to get the oil pressure verified with a gauge, If the gauge shows the oil pressure is below specifications and you have renewed the pressure regulator valve, running with a new oil filter / oil of the correct grade the next option is to renew the oil pump and check the oil pick up screen.
If this doesn’t result in an increase in pressure to above minimum spec’ VW maybe correct.

Also you could to test the renewed components using engine's built-in diagnostics? Or perhaps VW already did that? Were the replaced parts VW OEM?

Hi mate, all oil pressure good, it would appear I'm not the only one who is suffering from this.
Hey Dave, did you get this sorted? I’m experiencing exact same issues. Had regulator and sensors done ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ cheers for any info

Mate, managed to get coil and engine lights out by changing o2 sensor....put 2 new pressure switches on took it out and reset whilst going olong that sorted that out, I now have a crazy red oil warning telling me to stop "engine pressure low turn of engine" lol this has been going like this for 2 months now. Had all tests on engine pressure done, all fine, had a smoke test done all fine, no leaks anywhere on everything that has oil or fluid in it, it does 450miles a week, average 550 on a tank , runs bang on 90 degrees so fck it, I'm not spending another penny on it, it's going better than ever now....oh and VW told me I needed a new engine after they robbed me of £1200 teling me it was a wiring issue near the engine mount......fkng wnkrs.
good luck fella.

Hey bud, is yours still ok? I’m still having a mare with mine. VW technical involved now 2 oil regulators keep failing all pressures are fine. So god knows what’s next other than ££££

Mate, mine is still running like a dream with all warning lights still flashing. VW had two so called specialists look at it one of them even had a degree in electronics......lol, they rushed me £1400 and put my old oil regulator thing back on, they them told me needed you need a new engine, they also said they will not work on my van anymore, they are sht, find an old school garage take the van there. Good luck matey.

Mad how they can just wash their hands of it WTAF. It’s seems to be common but no solution

I'm having the same. 2016 T6 180k. Oil was stringy and lumpy so injector seals were replaced. Oil regulator and pressure sensors replaced. Coil light still appearing. Only stopping engine and restarting when it's warm will get it out of limp mode. Praying somebody here finds a solution!

Have you read the link from MMI above in relation to the oil pressure changeover valve?
I had the coil light and the oil pressure switch fault. Changed both oil pressure switches and fault still remained.
The changeover valve failed the VCDS test and after having that replaced I've had no problems.
Valve swap cost £220 at local indy.

Replied to this a number of times and various attempts to fix it.

1. High and low pressure switches replaced twice, fault recurred after a few months

2. Oil pressure regulation valve replaced, fault recurred after a couple of months

3. Oil pump replaced, now done 6k miles and 5 months later the fault has not returned

The pump was worn on dismantling but still surprising this was the cause but seems to have fixed the problem. Will report back in another 5 months. Here's hoping that's done it as it has been costly
