DPF Regen, Yellow Light & Adblue - Whats It All About? -

doing the maths 1.00 gal to 1.75 gal is 3.8 to 6.6 litres if it's US gallons or 4.5 to 7.95 litres.

Still not sure why the dash says 500 miles and VCDS says more 4059 but in km's, which is about 2500miles

If it has 8 litres in it, according to VCDS and a 13l tank then putting in anything over 5l is going to be a problem?

Or am I overthinking this? Probably....

Did I buy and put in duff AdBlue, or is the sensor gone?

Bear with a humble welder, how do I update the software? Is it a VW only job?
VW would be my preferred choice.. Anyways, the software is available to anyone. Of course, a proper tool is needed. VCDS can't do the update.

That's exactly the issue. Engine ECU provides the raw data (remaining litres, remaining miles) for the 17-Instruments/dash. Now the 17-Instruments is commanded to start countdown because of an error in NOx reduction system (AdBlue). The forced countdown is a requirement by legislation - to force people repair their emission reduction system. A blockmap from 17-Instruments would reveal some data about numbers seen on dash.

I'm highly confident the channel below propagates the issue to the 17-Instruments (normal value would be not_active)

Well, the tank actually is about 16 litres. Mine takes about 4 litres more than the max shown on dash. Haven't had any issues filling to the brim - now more than 10 years.

Nothing to worry.
The readings are perfectly normal for this ECU - never changing.
In that non-active group belongs also

@mmi
Thankyou
Going to VW will be very expensive.
I will try and do a block map of the instruments.
The exam question is how to do a reset of the countdown?
Pull a fuse? I assume that there will be a fuse in the little box under the lhs headlight?

Just to note, on mine ('24 Kombi 6.1) you can set the 'volume' display to show UK gallons, US gallons or litres. I have mine set to litres then there's no doubt.

Thanks, I have 2017 T32 T6 and haven’t found a way of displaying the AdBlue level in the menu’s yet.

Only by fixing the issue.
However, when you reach 0 miles, then you can Reset SCR lock (under Basic Settings) which gives 50 miles range (to get you to garage) for ECU update.

Blockmap for 17 instruments
Unfortunately not - it is adaptation map of 17.

Bought some Adblue
Topped up
Left ignition on for over 30 seconds

13litres according to VCDS.

Still says Adblue range is 500 miles
