DPF cleaner, where to spray?

Hey, have a dpf issue and just want to try a can of cleaner before I go deep diving, where is my easiest place to empty the can?

2017 2.0 tdi 4motion?

Probably not what you want to hear but if your DPF is grunged enough to be causing you problems it really needs to come off to be properly cleaned.

Remove the air filter hose that goes into the engine and spray in there but @Sasquatch is probably right.

DPF cleaner is normally pumped in via the pressure sensor hose, there is one pre and aft of the dpf.

O,Reilys is a good YT chanel, showing ON and OFF dpf cleaning.

My advice is don’t put anything through the engine other than the fuel and air it was designed to take.
If magic DPF sprays worked the specialists that remove and clean DPFs would be out of business.
Take your money to the pub, it’s slightly better value for money.

Sound advice, the DPF on my crafter will be coming off to be professionally cleaned soon. It’s fuel efficiency has plummeted recently, caused by an EGR fault, which in turn stops the ECU doing a DPF regen.

Don’t wait too long or it might take the turbocharger out at the same time.

Once the EGR is coded out, I’ll force a regen, see how she responds.
The main giveaways are the progressively worsening fuel economy, progressively worsening engine power and engine oil temps raising more than usual.
Similar to how my T6 CXEB went before it all got solved, one way or another…
