Door Seal upgrade from VeeDubs issue

Bought the 'Sounds like a Golf' style door seal upgrade kit from VeeDubs back in March this year, fitted the seal, following the instructions to the letter.

Made a very noticeable difference to the door closing, a proper 'clunk' instead of the tinny noise previously.

All good until today, just three months later, and the seals are coming away on both doors.

I'll be calling VeeDubs about this - not that hopefully mind - but was wondering if anyone had come across the problem? Have to say that when I was fitting them I was dubious about the adhesive - clearly not in the league of the 3M VHB stuff used for dashcams etc.

Can't recall where I got mine from, wasn't Veedubs, but still fine after 4 years.

Presume the paintwork was thoroughly cleaned with appropriate cleaner?

Mine has done this but only on the driver's side, ended up buying some 3m tape from eBay and sticking it back on, still ended up coming away a bit, mainly just above the curve at the bottom. I did think it maybe that I have stretched the seal while applying which has caused it to contract and then pull away from the adhesive?

Pretty sure mine were VanStyle but, like you, I thought the glue wasn’t sticky enough. However, they’ve been on a couple of years now and still seem well stuck.
I did go to town washing the door with water and then IPA and allowing to dry before applying.
Annoyance I have is that the door needs a bit of a slam to properly close (unless a window is open). Doesn’t sound like my Golf’s door close at all. Not a mod I would rush to repeat.

Glass cleaner works well to remove old wax and grime.
