No, the suffix identifies which engine the software belongs to - the version identifies software modification level. ThusThere are other software versions with different suffixes, so mine is probably just slightly later with the Q suffix?
04L-906-057 identifies only generically an engine software of certain group (possibly related to emission classification)
The suffix e.g. E, H, Q identifies the exact engine the software belongs to - different ones for manual gearbox, DSG, 4Motion+gearbox, usually also vehicle class N1/M1 makes a difference.
Note: in the EU there was an emission regulation change in 2019, which usully meant a different software was introduced. Thus it's quite possible that e.g. engine CXHA of MY16 and MY19 do not run the same software.
Engine (CXFA) Part No SW: 04L 906 057 E
for class M1 vehicle
Couldn't find a scan for "H" but it's obviously a software on some late T6 engines

The site listing is probably based on softwares available from VW for EU market area (on mid-July-2025). However, sometimes the site (and the software distribution package) misses factory installed software - possibly because there has been an urgent update at the time and possibly the software didn't make into software distribution package.Re my ecu software, perhaps it was updated by the dealer last year when I purchased the van, and the version hasn't been added to the ]Welcome to VAG-Flashinfo! site yet.
E.g. my first T6 MY16 initially had the following ECU software (which isn't found on the site)
Address 01: Engine (2D2D2-CXFA)
Part No SW: 04L 906 056 FB HW: 04L 907 445
Component: R4 2.0l TDI H02 2568
But was updated within a few months for
Address 01: Engine (2D2D2-CXFA)
Part No SW: 04L 906 056 KF HW: 04L 907 445
Component: R4 2.0l TDI H02 3809
which then got two more updates fairly soon... Any change to post your vehicle's configuration sticker as it has the emission classification codes?
Especially interested to what you have got in places of the codes "DN4", "T29", "7MM"
