Dealer damaged my gloss-black alloys

Hi.. All ...learnt a similar lesson on a black vehicle...so I’ve always told ( and even writing on paper to leave on driver seats ) customer service very politely ( because it’s not there fault ) please don’t wash my pride and joy.....it might be commercial but it’s driven for pleasure

Dont Wash This Vehicle.....Thank You...

Ps ..I've Also taken to taking a few photos on the day the van gets serviced

I always leave a note on the dash board and take pictures of the van including the mileage! Just asking them not to wash it seems to have no effect! The good news is that it’s now out of warranty and my service plan has expired so it will never go back to VW again! Hope you get it sorted! IMO VW are $hite to deal with.

Hi everyone just to update on the alloys. Vw told me to bring the van in and looking at the pictures I sent they can sort it out. Lol that’s the funniest thing I have heard this year. They make me laugh :D

The thing is ....it’s great if they sort it out ..but why damage the van in the first place and it’s also a big inconvenience to keep taking the van back ....I do feel you pain :(

It's so frustrating, sorry to hear your problems.
Personally if your able to rectify yourself I would just do it. It's more than likely going to be a painfull process if you let VW touch it again.

Yeah as I thought. Gloss Black wheels are a total nightmare to keep looking perfect. Even the washing process will scratch up the paint really fast.
Most of that will machine polish out, but I bet they look like that after a few months of you washing them too. I've been down this road several times and as much as I love Gloss Black wheels, they just don't last long before they look like the pictures above.
TS: is this true even of OEM gloss black wheels? i was thinking of changing mine to some black springfields..

Some finishes are better than others, and genuine should be a little better, but constantly cleaning wheels will often scratch up the surfaces if not ultra careful, but gloss Black will just show up the scratches more than any other colour.
