That's on the after market radio screen.Nice. My van doesn’t have a coolant gauge……you think it’s got the MMI?
It was specced with the 150 engine, 7 sp DSG, A/C, but they left it with poverty level clocks and head unit?![]()

Ahhh gotcha! That's on the after market radio screen.

Cool. I take it that just plugs into the OBD port?View attachment 330599
Maybe look into a digital gauge.. like an ultra gauge.
I had one in my bmw e91 (same issue, no temp read out!) and it was great.. trick is to buy some colour film which you cut and slide over the screen to tint it to whatever colour your dash is. the bmw was orange and I think it matched pretty well.
I've one here for the T6 but I haven't found a good spot to mount it yet! but it works and gives you a lot of read outs (boost, voltage, coolant temp etc.)
Cool. I take it that just plugs into the OBD port?
Nice one! Might look into that. Lot cheaper than putting a new cluster in that’s for sure!Yes it does indeed.
I'll have to have another go at figuring out where to mount mine, as the T6 has a lot of flat surfaces that don't really suit the standard guage mount.
Theres lots of different mounts you can 3d print if you can do that.
Yeah it sure is.Nice one! Might look into that. Lot cheaper than putting a new cluster in that’s for sure!![]()
I got inspired to get the finger out and figured out a place to stick it. View attachment 330652
I'll tidy the hole and wire up soon. But that'll do for now. Maybe order some red acetate film to see if it helps blend it in. Also, the sticky back mount sucks... Sikaflex it down![]()
So I have it showing oil temperature... Well, at least, I think it's oil temperature. There is so many different readouts to pick.. I'm pretty sure engine temp is oil temp. Usually sits around 80 degrees so makes sense to me.That looks ok, I could live with that……but, you have a temp gauge in your cluster? Assuming you don’t trust it, as others have mentioned?Or is it for other readings?
I won’t be putting Sikaflex anywhere near mine lol…..I’ll never get the damn thing off
What are those neon switches on your dash?![]()
Likely that’s coolant temperature, 80 deg C oil temperature is too low.I'm pretty sure engine temp is oil temp. Usually sits around 80 degrees so makes sense to me.
Ahhh the old good old regen!!…..it is probably worth getting one that will also show DPF regens as well. That is another thing that most find very useful…..
Nothing for Highlines either - not for the 6.1 anyways.Ahhh the old good old regen!!
That would be another major annoyance to list with the van (thankfully, there are not many TBH).
I have no indication, anywhere, at all, that a regen is taking place, other than the smell, extra rattling and noise from the engine and the fan kicking in after switching off, if the cycle hasn’t completed.
No light no, no time remaining, no soot level, no miles til next regen…..nothing!
Don’t all you Trendline, Highline, Sportline guys be coming at me with “…..but hasn’t your van got this light….” for regen.
No!! I don’t!! Startlines have nothing!! In fact, it’s a miracle there’s an electric starter on the f*%king thing and not a cranking handle!

No idea where you are getting these values or what you are looking at?I was thinking it's just another coolant temp. It very rare to even have an oil temperature sensor. But it's still good to see the temp in near real time so not too bad. Must look for that regen one
