Coolant temp display for T6 Startline with VCDS

Nice. My van doesn’t have a coolant gauge……you think it’s got the MMI? 😂
It was specced with the 150 engine, 7 sp DSG, A/C, but they left it with poverty level clocks and head unit? 🤔🙄
That's on the after market radio screen.

Maybe look into a digital gauge.. like an ultra gauge.
I had one in my bmw e91 (same issue, no temp read out!) and it was great.. trick is to buy some colour film which you cut and slide over the screen to tint it to whatever colour your dash is. the bmw was orange and I think it matched pretty well.

I've one here for the T6 but I haven't found a good spot to mount it yet! but it works and gives you a lot of read outs (boost, voltage, coolant temp etc.)

Cool. I take it that just plugs into the OBD port?

Yes it does indeed.
I'll have to have another go at figuring out where to mount mine, as the T6 has a lot of flat surfaces that don't really suit the standard guage mount.
Theres lots of different mounts you can 3d print if you can do that.

Nice one! Might look into that. Lot cheaper than putting a new cluster in that’s for sure! 👍🏻

I got inspired to get the finger out and figured out a place to stick it. IMG_20260702_214627.webp

I'll tidy the hole and wire up soon. But that'll do for now. Maybe order some red acetate film to see if it helps blend it in. Also, the sticky back mount sucks... Sikaflex it down 😂

It’s the oil temperature that counts, once the delivery driver has ignored the high coolant temperature it’s possibly boiled dry and no longer a wet sensor.
A meaningless production cost saving but it’s the way it is.
