Coolant Leak [Resolved]

Hi All

I have a 2017 T6 204 DSG with only 30k on the clock and I frustratingly have the same issue with loss of coolant. The coolant lasts about 240 miles before the warning light appears. Have the discussed white sludge under the oil cap (which I understand can be normal). However, I have had various tests done that show nothing, two EGR valves and a water pump, but still have the problem. I love the van, but it is easily the worst vehicle I have ever owned. Fed up of chucking money at it and now looking to sell.

I bought my t6 in November last year. My dream van. Since then I’ve had issues with the coolant, exactly like everyone else on this thread..

I’m really worried now that it may be the head gasket! The coolant is having to be topped up every 200 miles or so, the pipe has been removed by a local guy that deals with vw and he said there is a milky substance at one end thinking it maybe oil getting in. Am I best to bite the bullet and take it to vw and get it sorted? It’s out of warranty now too .. 😕

As hard as it is, I’d get it done. We were in the same boat and we tried everything - coolant cap, new EGR, radiator etc and it still kept happening. Turned out it wasnt even the head gasket, it was the cylinder head which had a very small hole in cylinder 3 (the garage apparently panicked when they saw the head gasket was fine, but then put then submerged the cylinder head and found the hole which fave them the answer) Since getting it replaced its been rock solid over 5000 miles.
 
I'm now also in the same boat after previous coolant leak and replacement of charge air cooler. Still now a persistent leak and pressurised when cool - hoping the all in one warranty will cover it, but took three weeks of arguing last time to get it sorted..now been in for 5 days and still no culprit after pressure testing etc... Anyone else get a head gasket/cylinder head sorted under the extended warranty?
