Connect to VW and completely recode it back to factory settings?

So, I have a Transporter 6.1 with Sat Nav VW infotainment system PART No: 3G5035820 and it is completely messed up, no sat nav, all the codes say Valid but when you click on them, they have the wrong VIN and have a VCRN that just says: 1234 and say Invalid.

Is there a way to connect it to VW and completely recode it back to factory settings?

I updated my software via MIBsolutions VW kept saying there wasn't an update... which resulted in me losing the sat nav.

I have obviously made things worse by messing around (naively) with OBDeleven, and can't see a way back without VW server intervention.
Can anyone recommend a specialist North West area who can?

I am obviously feeling sorry for myself and wished I'd just singed up to a WEConnect subscription :(
Many thanks in advance... I hope I've posted this correctly

This is going to be tricky and really depends what you have done to mess it up, is the headunit factory fitted or been added after ?

The software VW use is known as ODIS (offboard diagnostic system) and this has a function referred to as SVM which is software version management, you can SVM a vehicle but you need to know/understand what it can and cant do

A point to note is that if anything has been retrofitted to the van any changes made to accommodate these items will be wiped and returned to factory

If you SVM a vehicle it will return all programming to factory parameters but this is coding and adaption values stored within control modules, if you have made a programming error this will sort it but if you have messed up the firmware/update files by loading them incorrectly or used an incompatible file then SVM will likely not help and could possibly cause more problems than it fixes ???

I think the 1st step here, if possible on a 6.1 unit, is to boot the sat nav into emergency mode and reflash the original software.
See below for how it's done on a T6 unit to get an idea of what's involved.

Thanks guys...REALLY!!! My unit is a factory fitted version. I had installed the 'green menu' etc... which I obviously didn't understand which caused it to get stuck in the loading user screen. I have turned that off using OBD11. My system has USB-C inputs which work but seem to not work when I go on the software update menu.

I will have a look at the 'emergency mode and reflash the original software' post, thanks...

Is the ODIS (offboard diagnostic system) only available to official VW workshops or can other workshops like VAG garages connect to the servers and perform full resets?

I will take a look myself first, but if I hit a brick wall i'd like to know if I could take it somewhere...

Thanks again for the advice... it's lonely when you make a right fudge of something...

Reverting that software is defo the first step and will hopefully correct the issue
ODIS is available outside of VW main dealers but not that common, if you do need to go down that route you would need a VW specialist or even better would be a decent VW retrofitter like @Dav-Tec who would have the tools to sort this
