Hi all,

I want to change the dash vents in my Kombi for those that come with the comfort dash so that I get the separate wheel to close the vents. It’s bloody annoying having to adjust the vents every time you happen to close and then open them.

Does anyone know part numbers and where I can get them?

Cheers, Chris

Hi Chris....did you manage to get your vents changed?....if so...what were teh parts needed?....and...were there any issues changing them over?

Thanks. Matt

I think there is some cutting required to make them fit but it can be done, I’m sure there is a post on here

I’m interested in this as well

OEM Caravelle vents, you do need to trim them at the bottom to get them to fit and remove the odd location pin

I haven’t got to it yet bud, other than your ambient lighting I’ve been concentrating on the outside. Maybe get back to the inside in the new year!

I might have the part numbers somewhere, not sure, I’ll see if I can dig them out.

How much for the luxury, looks a million times better

I was lucky, managed to get dash vents, lower comfort dash and door cards for a low price so dont know how much the vents are on there own. @Pauly may be able to help with the part numbers

@T6180 I like what you’ve done there. I’d like to do the same but go all the way across including glove box and instrument cluster (found part no’s on another thread). Would that be an easy fit for a diy man with a dremel? I have seen a set of vents on eBay for £150 but LHD could they be made to fit? Any idea?

To do a full caravelle upgrade you'll need the full dash too as its different from the std highline one

Too much to wrote up a build thread now. Ill sort it another time.

But to answer this thread. VW officially call it Mouldy Ass beige. I hate it. Shows scuffs and stuff.

If you're willing to part with just over £1k in parts alone you can do the caravelle gloss dash parts and the Shuttle lower panels and door cards.

I have all the part numbers.

Basically all of the lower panels from the Shuttle directly fit the panel van. No modifying at all. The door cards are a straight swap. The caravelle door cards differ with leather in the middle and silver trim and a different design around the upper storage. The caravelle door cards are about £110 more than the shuttle ones.
I went for the shuttle ones.

One thing that doesnt fit though is the lower B pillar trim. The shuttles are taller and wider.

Steve @ Edge Automotive are trimming me the headlining, visors, pillars and associated plastics and ill get Steve to trim the panel van lower b pillars now. Also some new black alcantara/leather seats as the red leather is out of my T5 and it old now.

In my opinion its how VW should offer highline panel vans. So much better. I actually use the upper glove box now. My Vw manual fits in there and customer invoices.
I was really liking what @ratty had done here, clearly it’s possible without changing the whole dash?

I am looking to swap out my Van-X outer dash vents for the genuine VW oem comfort dash type in piano gloss black. My local vw garage won’t order them as they don’t match my VIN. VW parts on-line don’t like supplying for upgrades - refer to dealer. And a couple of EBay requests (Eastern European) don’t recognise the part no’s (in photo from another thread) or won’t confirm colour.

Any ideas of correct part no for gloss black? And where to buy from?

TIA KF

Have a look here, should be what you need.

Hi folks.

I don’t suppose anyone in here knowsif the gloss black T6 caravelle vents on the outer dashboard fit the transporter?

middle of updating my interior and seems pointless getting bits painted if I can buy new that fit direct.
