Clunky gear change on manual box

Mine has a bit of a clunk when dropping up the gears to a junction - only when selecting 1st when doing very low speed. It clunks at what seems like the rear axle. Normal gear changes is fine. Got 152k on the clock. Curious to know if the axle clunk is something I need to address?
I cant imagine its the rear axle. My thinking is perhaps the gearbox input shaft is still spinning as you are selecting first just moments before you dip the clutch. Im probably talking horse shite though.

Yeah, very unlikely the rear axle, just feels like that - obviously a gear is engaging but jolts the van a little and only when chasing up to first….

When I first got mine and was still getting used to it, as our other vehicle has a DCT gearbox, I did something similar a couple of times. Its funny you know there are often times when I really enjoy a manual, and like having full control. And then sometimes I would have liked a DSG. But then thats only ever when in heavy traffic.
