Choosing An External Dash Cam

hi all

im about to fit a reversing cam and thought I would look into an external dash can while
im running cables
I have a windowless barn door t6 and was wondering if anyone has any advise on make/model
of external dash cam and best place to position it

i can see 2 routes:
- reuse the RVC signal and store it inside something like an analog PVR
- something like a go pro
unless you can fit it inside the bumper it will get stolen

most dash cams are as they say supposed to be internal (slightly reduced risk of theft, milder environment (water, dust))
