Campervan insurance quotes £3200-£6000!

Hello thank you for accepting me to the group.
We don’t have a camper van just yet , going to look at one next week but thought we would look at insurance quotes in preparation.
On a comparison site we were quoted between £3200 and £6000 .
Tried kampers , them quoted £4200.
A bit gob smacked really , we are both over 50, both been driving a long time , hubby is also HGV and we tour our caravan , both have clean licences , just on claim for vandalism on our car in 2021 that did not affect our NCB
If that’s the cheapest then I don’t think we will be going ahead next week.
Any help or ideas gratefully appreciated

OL10 area , on our drive
Will throw extra security at it , trackers , ghost .
Also security post in next few months ( once we get the drive done after finishing the garden)

Hi - welcome to the forum.

My advice is to forget on-line comparison websites - they're hopeless for campervans. Stick to the campervan specialists mentioned in this thread...

After getting silly quotes and untenable restrictions, I ended up with Comfort (an Aviva brand name IIRC) and can highly recommend them, but they may or may not be right for your particular circumstances.

Depending on value, expect to have to fit a tracker and also consider taking out an Agreed Value policy, otherwise you could end up getting short-changed if the van ever gets written-off.

Try Caravanguard and be honest. May need a tracker etc. just give them a call. They do understand. They were ace with me on a total loss not fault for claim.
