Camper Van Wiring Diagram

Hi,

Just looking for some advice! Bought my first transporter upgrading from a Caddy camper. Just about to start kiting out my transporter and just planning out a wiring diagram.

This is far from my area of expertise, so looking for some advise on my initial electric set up which I've drew out below. It's pretty basic at the moment, but will be growing my 'ecosystem' over time so wanting to go for a strong infrastructure from the off rather than having to rejig things round at a later date.

I will be using a BlueSky 12V Fuse box, with the below 12v items:

40w TV
18W Waterpump/Tap
2.5KW Diesel Heater
65w 12V fridge
18w USB Ports
4w LED lights

I've got a 300ah lithium battery, 2 x 100W Solar Panels with a 30a controller and a 60ah DC to DC charger.

Does this set up look okay? Anything to change?

Thank you!! :)

Where did you get the diagram from? Wondering why you are using 4AWG rather than mm2 which is the way cable is sized in UK?

1. Earth to starter should be changed to earth to ground to avoid the starter shunt.
2. Move 80a fuse closer to leisure battery (before iso switch) like you've done with the starter fuse.
3. Maybe consider an all in one DC/PWM charger unless you prefer the redundancy the 2 units provide.

Everything else looks hunky dory.

I made the diagram myself after spending approximately a full day doing some online research.. A lot of it was probably US content hence the measurement in AWG over mm2.

Thanks mate!

1. Which ground? would you use? The same ground that the starter earth is?
2. Noted!
3. I had a all-in-one charger in my basket to begin with, but opted for 2 units instead.. Mainly for peace of mind from both a troubleshooting side of things (in case any faults occur) - but after reading more into them a do wish I went for an all in one system now.

Appreciate the feedback, thanks!

I know there's a dedicated ground under the flooring of the drivers seat and there may be one under the passenger seat too but not 100%.

Thanks, I'll take a scout about. The only reason in my diagram that I had the earth to starter is this is what the manual shown to wire up to for the DC-DC charger, but if it's better off to ground instead then I'll do that instead.

There is a stud under both front seats. Also looking at your diagrams you might want to add a fuse in at the + of the leisure battery.

I think I’ve read that it’s better to use a MPPT solar controller rather than a PWM version, for better output from your panels.
