Buying A Van And Insuring

We are buying a T6 newly converted by a Volkswagen garage and a bit confused about insuring and registering it. Do we need to send the V5 with proof of conversion or has this changed as the dealer thinks this has changed in October 2019 and we only have to tell insurance company. Thank you

I would get the dealer to show you what the V5 says. The dealer may be referring to the recent changes in registration process, which are covered in great detail somewhere else on this forum. Otherwise you run the risk of incorrectly insuring your new vehicle.
