When do you need to get campervan insurance over van?

Hello.

I have purchased a T6 panel van and i am looking to start converting it into a partial campervan. I am not looking to go over the top and just adding a leisure battery, adding some back windows, building a wooden bed frame and then buying some alloys. Would this need campervan insurance over van insurance? Any help would be much appreciated.

Hi, what insurance did you go with in the end? I’m currently in the same situation as you.
I’ve looked at ‘justkampers’ as they do the camper in conversion.

I’m just with admiral at the minute, haven’t really started a conversion just have an ikea £99 folding bed in the back so no need to really inform insurance. Kind of got a bit lost with it all really it’s a minefield
