Bulb fail light on but not with lights switch set to auto

Got an interesting fault, with the lights switch set to "auto" all works fine no errors. But if set the lights switch to '0' or lights on eg side lights I get the bulb fail light error on the dash. Had a careful check round all the lights, they are all okay. Its a t6 highline 17 plate with DRLs - all the front main light bulbs look to be H7s including the DRLs. Rear lights, fog, reversing are all original as far as I can see.

Its still in warranty so will go back to VW but would be useful to pin them down with the fault to fix.

Thoughts and ideas appreciated

a scan of the van will specify which lamp is at fault
Could be an intermittent fault so not always visible ?

thanks, No ODBC codes to see, auto electrician with the VCDS didn't come up with anything this afternoon either.
Always on, perhaps just have to check and reseat each bulb - should keep me busy - not a lot else to do at the moment, lol

You could try a hard reset first.. ( just incase the BCM is playing about)

.

forgot to say, sidelights are permanently on, on auto setting, including rear - is this normal or a VCDS setting ?

It’s a VCDS setting. Lights on with terminal 15 or something like that
