Bonnet release catch stiff.

When I pull handle to release bonnet it stays in the open position and bonnet won't latch unless the handle is physically pushed back. Under bonnet bit looks good. Any suggestions?

Try wd40 spray oil in the bonnet catch assembly..

It might be old spray grease gone dry causing it?

I did exactly that on the bonnet end. Think it's the handle end.

Take the kick panel off and have a look...

Possible kinked pull cable.

Or corrosion in the cable?

lube you bonnet release catches people - went to open mine today, the bonnet popped when I pulled the handle inside, but the safety latch was stiff and as the whole assembly is made of flimsy plastic, it just flexed and wouldn't let me in.

It wasn't a big drama, I got it to release eventually, but it could be a pain in the ass if you needed quick access or in a brake down situation...A quick squirt of spray grease and cycling the mechanism a few times got it as good as new.
