Big Brakes: talk to me

I’ve recently fitted a set of Leighton vans big brake kits to my T6 and quickly realised my 17” spare wheel is no longer any use to me. I’ve asked both the UK and the Australian businesses what is the work around and they’ve both said, “Buy another 20” alloy and chuck it in the back”
Really???
I’m thinking maybe a BMW X5 space saver?
Has anyone else overcome this problem I wonder?

Put the spare on the back and move a back wheel to the front, which is a wise thing to do anyway, much better to drive than having a 20 and a 17 up front

Audi q8 space saver with bolt adapter, fits in the cage underneath with a foam packer.

I think that would void any motor insurance policy worldwide.

Hello everyone.

My van is almost ready to be the way I like it. Now it's time for a brake swap. In my area, the shops aren't very helpful in guiding me on what I should consider when buying new calipers. Can anyone tell me what calipers I can put on 20" wheels? Do I need an adapter, as the mechanic tells me? If so, where can I buy the brakes with the kit? Thank you all very much. I'm glad I found this wonderful forum. Best regards.

Spain. Ok. These are manufactured by British mob called EBC who do a kit for your van if it has 20” wheels fitted. No spacers are needed. The kits contains everything and can be purchased through Leighton Vans in the UK. That’s one option. I’m sure there are others in Europe.

Managed to pick up an 18” space saver off a Holden Commodore wagon that fits perfectly. Misses the calipers by mm’s. Rolling diameter is about 20mm less though 🤔

Thanks for your quick response. I know Leighton, and I bought the front spoiler from them. The downside is that it's a lot more expensive and shipping is a hassle. I'd like to buy it somewhere closer. I'm considering it as a last resort.

What brakes are you after Mr good boy ?
So many options out there ...Aston martin , porshe panamara, ttrs ...surely you could source some of those over in spain? And yes you will need adapters if that's the case
