I am in the market for some big brakes on my new 204 dsg 6.1 t32 when it finally arrives, along with a suspension kit etc, etc, I already know I will be be running Judd 311r's,so got plenty of room.

Thing is, I dunno know whether to go Forge,Revo or even Brembo Porsche ones with the relevant discs..

I do own a latish 911 with Carbon ceramics on, so I am trying to replicate the look somewhat..

Give me your thoughts feedback, pics etc, as I'm interested to see & hear your thoughts guys.

I am & I arn't on a budget, just want the right package.

Can’t help much on the big brake scene but I’m sure any of them would look good and be awesome, what you doing with your old brakes, I’m in the market for some larger ones on my much slower van ha

I understand your quest to improve the look…..My 204 dsg T32 ..T6 ..came with bigger discs…I’ve changed the pads to EBC yellow stuff and painted the brake caliper ..so it stands out….If I had a T28/30 with smaller brakes I’d possibly upgrade to aftermarket stuff..but the braking capabilities for standard T32 ( big discs ) are fine…..not seen painted T6.1 brakes …However after having my alignment done at a Porsche specialist…the mechanic was impressed at the size of the brakes :)

@BognorMotors is the man for big brakes

We stock Revo 380mm brakes and very shortly will have some other brakes to offer too.

Hi m8,they will be redundant once the conversion is complete, along with the suspension components.

Agree with @VanDamMan i also have the big brake T32 and can’t fault them, pads do need to be changed to EBC but aside from that they are great. Obviously not up to carbon ceramics but don’t forget its not a Porsche.

Mine has been chipped but still the brakes pull it up great.

Paint the callipers, save your money for air suspension.

All interesting comments, thx,so,you reckon go airide rather than coil overs, even better than Eibach,Bilstein,KW etc ?. its a minefield ain't it ?,thing is is,I'm spending a small fortune ere,& I wanna get it right,as I will be keeping it quite a while,so do it right once, that's the theory anyrd..

99% certain the 6.1 has bigger brakes ( T32 204 version ) but slightly different caliper to the T6 …you could just paint your new ones as I did and see if it suits ( standard and just painted ) Suspension Is a whole new ball game…I’m on KW V1 now….the stance and drivability make bigger differences but suspension is very personal… I’d speak to one of our suspension specialist explain your needs …

I have a 2017 T32 which has the big brakes. I haven't driven a T6.1 so don't know if the brake feel is different.
One negative with the std VW big brakes is that the initial application can be quite sudden - I thinks it is technically referred to as 'tip-in', and is a characteristic of the brakes.
You can learn to drive around it though.

You can change the initial bite with pad material though, as some guys have suggested, I know what you mean, you wanna try a 911 on carbon ceramic if you like initial bite...f**k me they're addictive.. lol

Thanks.
I'd rather have something that feels linear in its response.
Had a Citroen many many years ago for a thankfully short time where the brakes were binary - either on or off with seemingly nothing in between.

Depends if you want it to look good and have to ability to go up and down or if you want it to drive and handle good... Similar story with the brakes, T32 ones are fine, 340mm discs. The 4 pots etc do look nice though
