Any other options to lower my camper a bit more than the 40mm that this kit does, any pictures of a van with the kit fitted yet, i have 275/40/20 wheel tyre combo on a t30 and would like to close the arch gap a bit

The H&R coilover kit the CRS team fitted to my van on Thursday would give you the lower drop. I appreciate it is a pricier option, but I am so impressed with the ride quality and that the van is much more car-like now. I’d read so many other positive comments before making the choice. Adding my own having put several hundred miles in across the hills of Lancs, Yorkshire and North Wales over the last few days - everything from Motorway to fast B roads and back country lanes with grass up the middle. My van’s filthy now needs a clean 😂

Lower than 40 mm you have to take the plunge and change shocks , the ride just gets worse the lower you go .

The H&R kit mentioned is brilliant and streets better than any other kit of its type .

With sport short shocks we can get 50 mm really nice , but that doesnt sound like it will be enough

Do you have any pictures of a camper with your new kit or the h&r kit

Mine is on 20s running 265/40s. I wouldn’t want it lower as it goes over some rough roads/forest car parks occasionally. CRS will need to advise on lower drops

Could you have gone lower with the kit? What size wheels/tyres are they on there?

I have been looking at around 70mm but not sure if thats enough and would really like approx 85mm...........
The issue you have with going lower than the spec for the kit is the loss of travel , with no travel the kit will ride poorly , also drive shaft angles and poor tyre wear factors need to be considered too .

With those factors in mind, on 20's what's the most you can really lower the vans then?

Also, with the So-Low kits, is it better to have NSL's near maximum drop or Lows at maximum height?

Lows at maximum height would be looking at a 95mm drop plus the sag from the weight of the van making them very low really, whereas NSL's at max drop of 95mm plus the weight of the van could potentially leave very little travel left for the shock absorbers?

All advice, opinions and experiences welcomed as always people!

I would seriously advise a call to us for a full explanation before buying anything . No cost to getting sound advice This can be a costly error to make if done incorrectly

So.........

I have gone and lowered my van, thank you everyone for all the advice but ultimately i made the decision i thought best.

I have had So-Low NSL's installed from the lads at Supreme Conversions in Telford

After a very thorough discussion of how i use my camper, the weight of the vehicle being a LWB etc and the look i was after but not wanting the ride to be terrible - i was constantly reassured that the ride will be great compared to the standard T32 setup i had.
So, my kit was fitted, along with HD Top mounts, HD rear lower spring rubbers and longer drop links. All adjusted perfectly and looks fantastic - with still adjustment to go lower if i wanted to.

Now for the test drive, oh my days! I am absolutely amazed! My van has been transformed! Its so much smoother, bumps are loads less crashy, its just everything i didnt think it would be with coilovers and essentially 90mm drop!

I am so incredibly pleased with the van, the drive and the looks, after months of decision making, pro's and cons of lowering, coilovers etc, i wish i just bit the bullet and went with So-Low NSL's when i was first told about them!

I thouroughly recommend anyone with the same concerns that i had, get all your info together, speak with the amazing guys on the forums etc speak with installers around the country (i have spoke with loads!) and then make ya decision, but for me So-Low NSL's and Supreme Conversions have been absolutely spot on with my van 👍

So one of my OEM shocks on the rear is leaking - time to consider decent replacements. I am on swamper tyres and don't want a massive drop. What is my best option?

Do i need coilovers? Or just consider getting decent shocks such as the Konis, and some good lowering springs?

@CRS Performance I’ve been watching this thread and coming to the conclusion the H&R coliover set up is the go to for best all round.
How much do you sell the kit for and how much would fitting be if I were to come to you? Thanks

Apologies this one slipped through the net . aaprox £1745.00 fitted incl vat , there may be mounts and bushes needed as well but these arent expensive

This is the reason , shock travel is a vital element of comfort , The kit on the right claims 50 to 80 mm the other kit claims 50 to 90 mm as you can see the strut is too long it will bottom out easier , this limits suspension movement and performance . The A R B bracket is also not in the best place and this limits the ARB performance ,

Hard to be 100% sure from the pic on an angle, and without them both wound all the way down but at first glance it would appear the H&R would actually drop about 10mm lower than the NSL kit?

£!!!!
I can have a lot of fun for that and it doesn’t involve hydraulics and springs, not saying your more’re expensive than the alternatives but I’d want 15 years service out of them for that.

No we arent more expensive than any one , most clients comment our labour rates are cheap , compared to VW we just give everything away ,

The kits we do are probably the only ones that could do 15 years ha ha
