So after almost 1 year of ownership my baby is now exactly how I want her. After taking delivery last March is was a few months to wait before the conversion could be completed. I drove over to the U.K. in June 2021 and left the van in the capable hands of the team at @Cambee Campervans with the trip down taking me via @BognorMotors for lowering (BIG shout to both companies, amazing service from both).
I managed a couple of trips before the central eastern winter set in and noticed the paintwork wasn’t where I wanted it to be so……detailing! I found a local guy and went to speak with him, had a look at some of his work and understand what products he used etc. After a chat, I decided to book the van in and it was another 8 weeks wait for the slot beginning 02nd Jan.
A trip to Spain over the Xmas period for some winter sun helped ease the winter blues and pass the time.! Finally, after 3 weeks of deep paint correction and detailing of the interior, exterior and engine bay, I collected the van. To say I’m blown away is an understatement. The pictures don’t really do it justice and I really didn’t want to leave the studio in the van (not least because it had started snowing ).
The paint looks amazing with all swirl marks removed, stone chips repaired and finished off with a 5 year mayvinci ayanmo glass coating.
I’ve dreamed of having a converted Transporter for as long as I can remember and it’s almost got me a little bit emotional getting to this stage. I’m really looking forward to the summer, travelling around Europe with my Son and visiting the U.K. for the many shows! Hopefully bump into to some of you guys along the way. Do look out for my CZ reg plate and come say hi.!
